Sergey Kravtsov held an online consultation for USE participants

The head of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science, Sergei Sergeevich Kravtsov, together with his colleagues, answered questions from citizens on the organization and conduct of the Unified State Exam in 2014. On April 8, from 8 am to 20 pm, Rosobrnadzor experts spoke with graduates, parents and teachers during an online conference.

Regardless of the region of residence, everyone could ask a question about the Unified State Exam and State Examination. Residents of Russia were answered by telephone hotline and on the Internet. They could ask their questions by email, Skype, Twitter, on the Unified State Exam portal and on social networks. During the online conference, more than 1000 requests were recorded from almost all regions of the Russian Federation. 

Residents of Russia were most often interested in answers to questions about the availability of KIM for the Unified State Exam 2014 on the Internet, the possibility of changing the list of declared exams, holding the Unified State Exam in Crimea, methods for obtaining exam results and their validity period, and features of applying for final certification by graduates of previous years. 

Questions from graduates, parents and teachers during the online conference were answered by: Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science Sergei Kravtsov, Deputy Head of Rosobrnadzor Anzor Muzaev, Head of the Department for Quality Assessment of General Education Yulia Egorova, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Sergei Testing Center Ponomarenko, director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements” Oksana Reshetnikova.

The most frequently asked questions and their answers:

“There are many offers on the Internet for the sale of CMMs for the Unified State Exam. Are the answers to the 2014 exam questions actually available online?”

Rosobrnadzor monitors groups on social networks and websites offering to buy CMMs for the Unified State Exam and answers to exam tasks. Today, under the pretext that these are supposedly materials from 2014, questions are offered from an open bank of tasks or exam materials from previous years. There are no KIM and answers to the 2014 Unified State Exam tasks on the Internet.

 

“Will Crimean schoolchildren be able to pass final exams in the form of the Unified State Examination in 2014?”

High school students in Crimea in 2014 will be able to take the Unified State Exam during an additional period of delivery, which begins on July 7. By the end of April, all preparatory work on organizing the Unified State Examination in Crimea will be completed. Examination tasks will be the same as for Russian graduates from other regions. 

 

“Will paper Unified State Examination certificates be issued this year? How many years are the results valid for?”

 

Paper certificates of Unified State Examination results will not be issued in 2014. Starting this year, all data on the number of points received as a result of passing the Unified State Exam will be sent to the unified federal information system; they will be relevant for 4 years from the date of passing the exam.

 

“Is it possible to change the list of exams specified in the application after March 1?”

Changes to the list of declared exams after March 1 are possible only if there are valid reasons supported by documents. Changes must be reported no later than one month before the start of the exams.

 

“Can graduates of previous years take the Unified State Exam? How many years after leaving school?

Graduates of previous years have the right to take the Unified State Exam annually in any subject of Russia. An application to take the exam must be submitted before July 5 at the places of registration for the Unified State Exam, determined by regional education authorities.

 

“Are participants in international Olympiads exempt from taking the State Examination in all subjects or only in a subject that corresponds to the profile of the Olympiad?”

Winners and prize-winners of international Olympiads are exempt from passing the State Examination Test in a subject that corresponds to the profile of the Olympiad. In other subjects, students take the GIA according to the general rules for conducting a mandatory exam.
