Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology is a higher educational institution located in the city of Ivanovo.

It is customary to begin the history of the university from 1918, when the Ivanovo-Voznesensky Polytechnic Institute was established on the basis of the Riga Polytechnic Institute evacuated to Ivanovo by decree of V. I. Lenin[1]. In 1930, it was divided into several universities, one of which was IKhTI (Ivanovo Institute of Chemical Technology). In 1980, IKhTI was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and in 1993 it was renamed IGHTA (Ivanovo State Chemical-Technological Academy). In 1998 IGHTA was transformed into Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology.

Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology is a multidisciplinary institution of higher education with a high human resources potential and a modern material and technical base, providing high-quality training of specialists in a wide range of technical, technological, economic and managerial, social, humanitarian and natural science specialties for enterprises and organizations of the Ivanovo region and other regions of the Russian Federation.

The university has six faculties of basic professional education: inorganic chemistry and technology, organic chemistry and technology, chemical engineering and cybernetics, humanitarian (as a faculty), Institute of Management, Finance and Information Systems, Higher College of Chemistry (as a faculty).

Training of specialists is carried out in 26 specialties of higher professional education, 14 areas of bachelor's degree, 11 areas of master's degree. The university implements advanced training and professional retraining programs in the profile of the university.

The university conducts systematic work to improve the organization of the educational process, develop and implement new effective teaching technologies, detailed analysis and generalization of the achievements of educational systems existing in Russia and abroad.
